Multiple Authorization Request

In most transactions, the terminal will only send an AuthorizationRequest to the CM.com IPP Payments Platform once, but there are exceptions where the terminal must send an additional authorization request to successfully complete the transaction.
The following four situations require an additional AuthorizationRequest:

• Online PIN is requested after entering wrong PIN

• Online PIN is requested, last attempt, after entering wrong PIN

• Online PIN is requested after a tap (SCA-PIN)

• A card insert is requested after a tap (SCA-CARD INSERT)

Below two figures of SCA with PIN and with card insert. When the CM.com IPP Payments Platform indicates to do SCA with card insert, then the terminal needs to present a message to indicate that the card needs to be inserted. After the card is inserted, the terminal will perform a (new) transaction with the inserted card and can request PIN if needed. A new AuthorizationRequest must be submitted with all required data elements, including the transaction identifier as received from the CM.com IPP Payments Platform. The same card used during the initial authorization must be used when a SCA card insert is required.

Note

In all 4 cases identified above, the tags TRANSACTION_IDENTIFIER 5FE300, TRANSACTION_DATE 9A and TRANSACTION_TIME 9F21 are mandatory as this will help to identify the original AuthorizationRequest. The authorization result codes that indicate these cases are summarized in the table below.
