Session Management

A session represents the temporary lifecycle of an interaction between an integrator (e.g., a terminal, third-party application) and the CM.com IPP Payments Platform. It is a secure and unique context in which all operations related to a specific transaction or workflow are grouped.

The CM.com IPP Payments Platform is responsible for creating, managing, and closing sessions automatically, ensuring data integrity and consistency throughout the interaction.

Session Closure

A session can be explicitly closed immediately when it is no longer needed.

Important

  • If the Terminal can print receipts, the session will wait for the PRINT_REQUEST (0501) to response with the PRINT_COMMAND (0500) message in order to close the session. However, if PRINT_REQUEST (0501) is not received, the session will be closed after a period of inactivity (not recommended).

  • If the Terminal is not capable of printing, the session will automatically close after the full message dialog completes. However, if Printing Messages are still required for any reason, a new session must be initiated to handle them.

Session Closure

Session closure should not be delegated to the inactivity timeout, as this may lead to:

  • Unnecessary resource consumption

  • Pending operations remaining locked

  • Security risks by keeping inactive states open
