Design Considerations for templates per endpoint

  • A template is defined for a combination of endpoint and integration
    • Ex: If salesforce integration has endpoints of Customer, Order, etc… then every endpoint has one template defined. When you have products like mobile marketing cloud, mobile service cloud integrates with salesforce order and the customer then each product will have a template defined for each endpoint
  • When integration is enabled, basic templates are pre-configured for the customer and product. These templates can be customizable by the customer
  • The combined response from multiple endpoints can have the same fields. We consider the field values in the order of appearance in the query and ignore the rest
    • In the below example, if the same field exists in both orders and products responses at the same level then the field in orders endpoints is considered and the field from products endpoint is ignored
{
"query": [
{
"uri": "/orders"
},
{
"uri": "/products"
}
]
}
  • Templates missing for an endpoint means there will not be any transformation applied
  • The list of endpoints of integration will be loaded dynamically from Open API Specification (swagger)
