Shopify Webhook For Sending Data

Starting with Shopify for Customer Engagement apps you can send data about events that occur on the server to a web application using webhooks. Webhooks is a lightweight HTTP pattern for connecting Web APIs and services with a publish/subscribe model. Webhook senders notify receivers about events by making requests to receiver endpoints with some information about the events.

There are three parts to using web hooks:

What customers have to do?

Customers who are consuming Shopify, have to follow some steps:

  • Register a webhook
  • Create Steps (Parameters for which they want notifications or what ever)
  • For every event like ADD, UPDATE, DELETE for each parameter like “Order“ have to create new step.

example: Suppose a customer wants to get notification for the **create and delete **event in **orders. **Now they have to create 2 steps

  • ORDER CREATED
  • ORDER DELETED
