Exact Online CRM

This page serves as the parent page for the Customer Setup and Delivery Setup guides. It provides an overview of the Exact Online CRM integration process.

Overview​

The Exact Online CRM integration connects a customer's Exact Online administration with the Marketplace platform. Changes to customers (Accounts) and Sales orders in Exact Online are pushed to the Marketplace through Exact Online webhooks and forwarded to CDP.

This guide is divided into two sections:

  1. Customer Setup: What the customer needs to do in Exact Online and provide to enable the integration.
  2. Delivery Setup: What our team configures on the Marketplace platform based on the customer's input.

How it works​

  • Authentication: OAuth 2.0 with the customer's own Exact Online app (Client ID and Client Secret). The customer authorizes the connection once.
  • Token refresh: Exact Online access tokens are valid for 10 minutes, and every refresh token can be used only once. The Marketplace refreshes the token automatically (about every 10 minutes) and stores the new refresh token each time. No action is needed from the customer.
  • Data flow: After authorization, the Marketplace automatically registers Exact Online webhooks for Accounts and SalesOrders. When a record is created or changed, Exact Online notifies the Marketplace, which reads the full record from the Exact Online API and forwards it to CDP.
  • Access: Read-only. The integration does not create, change or delete data in Exact Online.
Single-use refresh tokens

The Marketplace must be the only system that refreshes the Exact Online token for a connection. If another tool (for example a script, Postman or another platform) uses the same refresh token, the token chain breaks and the customer has to authorize again.

Integration Setup Process​

  1. Customer Setup for Exact Online: The customer creates a dedicated read-only user, registers an internal app in Exact Online, shares the Client ID, Client Secret and Division, and authorizes the connection.
  2. Delivery Setup for Exact Online: Our team configures the integration on the Marketplace platform using the customer's details and verifies that data is flowing.
